Junk Model Say

You will require

  • Junk such as boxes, straws, foil, wool (you can get items from a scrap store)
  • String, PVA glue, Sellotape (or other bonding martials)
  • Pens

The idea is to offer a question based on a particular subject: for example:

  • What is your church or youth / children’s group like
  • What do you do at your church or youth / children’s group
  • What do you like about your church or youth / children’s group
  • What don’t you like about your church or youth / children’s group
  • What would you change about your church or youth / children’s group if you could

Then invite the children / young people to respond by making a junk sculpture model. They can include words or sentences if they like to help explain what they want to say. This can be done individually or in small groups.

Encourage discussion while they are making their models and invite each individual / group to feedback and explain their model. It is a good idea to take notes and photographs of each model. These can be then be displayed and fed back to the PCC and other stakeholders.
