Conduct a questionnaire or online survey

Questionnaires and surveys are a useful way of obtaining children or young people’s opinions on a particular issue or service. They need to be kept simple, short, focused and interesting, using things like tick boxes, word circling, pictures and symbols, multiple choice answers and limited word answers. Questionnaires and surveys can be printed off for the group or individuals to complete. Alternatively you could produce an online survey using a site such as SurveyMonkey. A link can be emailed to the young people or to parents to complete with younger children. Questionnaires and surveys work best when they are time limited and have a deadline. The children and young people often need a reminder to complete it on time. If they are too complicated it is very difficult to collate and disseminate information.
